info:
Jason grew up around the suburbs of Atlanta in Tucker, GA. He played all sports from swimming to football growing up and always loving the competition. At 13 he decided to focus on baseball while pitching for the East Cobb Astros and his middle school team. Jason played baseball, threw the shot-put and discuss, and was an all-state tuba player in high school. Jason then went and played first base and DH for Young Harris Jr. College for 2 years and also played a year at Shorter College in Rome, GA. After getting out of baseball Jason began to start playing golf at 21 at Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome, GA. "I used to play golf once or twice a year and hit a old persimmon 3-wood 300+ yds when I was 14, I just wish I had learned about this sport sooner" "I was always hitting the ball longer than everyone but I didn't even know the sport of long drive existed until I was 24. I was in the PGA Superstore getting a new set of irons for my grandfather goofing off hitting stock drivers 390+ yds on the simulators when they recommended I check out the sport. That was the summer of 2009 and within 2 months of picking up a new 50" long drive club I hit my first 400+ yard drive in competition at Shanks Driving Range in South Carolina. That is when I became obsessed with the rush of hitting a golf ball as far as I possibly could. Seeing a golf ball go that far is amazing enough, just imagine the rush you get when you hit a ball that far. When I was new to the sport Landon Gentry, now one of the greats of long drive, told me "there was a 2 year learning curve to figure out your swing and equipment" and he was 100% correct. The next two years I worked on my swing and figured out what equipment was right while going to Remax World Long Drive Locals and Regionals and testing my distance against the longest hitters in the South East region while I was finishing up my degree. In 2011 after I graduated in May with a bachelors degree in Management Information Systems from the University of West Georgia I decided to truly dedicate myself to the sport of Long Drive."Most of Jason's time the next 2 years was spent managing an outside staff at Eagles Landing Country Club, selling insurance at State Farm, and running his own painting company on the side. In his spare time he would practice driving 100's of golf balls a day or 2 a week if possible. Always trying to improve and working out in the gym to get stronger. He performed at a couple charity golf events where he would drive greens for the tournaments competitors and raised over $1200 for the 2 charities which were the Knights of Columbus in Stockbridge, GA and The Boys and Girls Club Atlanta. During his 2 year stretch Jason hit multiple balls over 400 yds in American Power Golf Tour competitions and LDA locals with the longest drive being 413 yds at the RWLDC Regional in North Carolina in 2011. Jason has since placed in top 5 mulitple times in American Power Golf events and was 1 rd short of making to the 2012 Remax World Long Drive Contest, the top 128 long drivers from around the world, after fighting his way through 10 rounds of competitors. Now after the 2012 season Jason is praying that his hard work in the off-season will help him to break out this 2013 season and receive his first long drive victory. Now with the Golf Channel, NBC Sports, and Callaway Golf coming into the sport who knows who's going to emerge as the next long drive super star. Jason says "with Jesus by my side and a lot of hard work this off season I'm ready for whatever comes my way. May the best man win. We might be friends off of the tee box but when we step up to hit we are warriors competing against one another leaving our hearts and souls on the tee box as we destroy golf balls to unbelievable distances, how far will we go this year with the Taylormade TP Blacks or comparable golf balls......only time will tell".

I like golf, but I LOVE to hit it far!! I've been playing golf since I was 8 when my dad first introduced me to this great game. Golf is for everyone, and we are in charge of getting as many people as we can to be hooked on golf. Whether you compete in long drive or play casually, golf teaches you a lot about yourself and others. I've met great people along this path, and am very thankful to those who have helped and encouraged me to chase my dreams. Thank you to my wife and family, Trey Robbins, Bob Lively and the members at Flossmoor Country Club, Keith Webster, and Jeff Sachs and his company Sweat Equity. Your support and enthusiasm continues to inspire me! Get it!!

I am a high school math teacher, ex football player and now long driver. Without any golf background I tried long drive in 2010 and earned a spot into the Remax world long drive tournament. Recently I have re-devoted myself in hopes to earning another birth into "Worlds". In 2013 I finished in the finals at the 2013 North Carolina Championship. One of Tech's most dependable, consistent performers on the defensive line for three years... suffered a knee injury in the 2007 regular season finale vs. Georgia that kept him out of the bowl game... started at defensive end as a senior and moved inside to defensive tackle in passing situations... an outstanding run-stopper... leaves Georgia Tech ranked among the all-time leaders in tackles by a lineman... a two-year starter for the Jackets... nickname is "The Machine"... graduated from Georgia Tech in December, 2007... owns 41 career starts including 38 consecutive... played in 50 career games.
