Two smaller tournaments were added in this edition of the rankings. The Kid’s Chance Invitational, hosted by Kevin Bullard, boasted a field of 22. The winner was a new face to long drive,William Hinson, who outbattled a number of top 20 ranked hitters for his first tournament win. Hinson got started in WLDC locals in 2011, and has picked up momentum since then. The win earned Hinson 150 ranking points.
The 20th Metter LD Invitational, the longest running indepdendent long drive event was won by Landon Gentry, who moves back into the #1 spot by a slight edge over Joe Miller. These two will meet head to head at the REMAX World Championships this October.
Also in this update, points for locals have been dropped. The 2011 REMAX has been upped from 1800 to 2400 points to match the increase in LDA and independent events this year. This keeps it proportionally the same percentage of value.
